Essential Thrombocythemia and HOT! HOT! HOT!

Long before my diagnosis, I had begun to have trouble with excessive sweating and heat intolerance.  I read before that other ET patient also have issues with sweating and heat.  I am afraid the problem for me is getting worse.  I was wondering if there were any suggestions and creative solutions to this frustrating problem.

I am like a walking, talking human radiator I put off sooo much heat!!  If I get into my car while have a sweat episode, I instantly fog up all the windows!!  I can not put on my sunglasses too soon after getting outside because I will fog them up also.  I gave a co-worker a some change that was in my pocket and she said it felt like the change had been on a stove or something.  I have to travel with plenty of paper towels so I can wipe my face since all of my sweating comes from my face and head.  If I forget my towels I end up looking as if a bucket of water over my head.  People stare because I must look crazy.  I have even had folks ask me if I were OK.  I MUST have access to cool air all the time.  HELP!!

Hi:  I just clicked on here, and have not checked messages for days.  You said thrombocytopenia which is low platelet count.  Is this what you have?  I just brought my low platelet count to my Oncologists attention today.  I am very concerned as to what they will do.  Please post back. The sweating could be a sign of something else going on.

Hello, I have the same trouble with being hot especially at work. It is so embarrassing! I try to keep the air moving around me at all times if possible. Don't know what else to tell you. Debbie
