LIPOSARCOMA TREATMENT

How was your visit at Sloan last week? I hope all went well.

Thanks for remembering. News is partly good. Tumours are growing but very slowly. hence we have been asked to wait and do nothing. Scans to be done after 6 months.

One of the tumours has reduced in size--so we are hoping that the Homeopathic and ayurvedic medicines are working!

 

 

Ok - there is some positive news there. If the tumors are growing slowly and one has reduced, it definitely sounds like something is working. I am very happy to hear that. I will keep you and your wife in my prayers.

Hello, sorry I didn't respond sooner. Our appointment at Sloan is next month. I will discuss the treatments you mentioned then. In-the-meantime, we are also trying an alternative treatment with natural supplements until the appointment at Sloan. The treatment is to build his immunity, etc. I don't know if it's doing anything, but I don't think it will hurt.

We have only received the preliminary report from our last scans doen in Soan on 21 October and it has some mistakes in sizes of the tumours but overall the tumours are stable.

we have been asked to do the scans in 6 months time.

My husband has had surgery 4 times for liposarcoma over 4 years, and  and it is only 4 months since the last operation and the tumours are back.  He has had sunitinib, which didn't work, ifosomide, which also had no affect and trabectitin which also didn't help.

 

We are now in the situation, where he needs another operation, but the the tumours will be back probably within two months, he is having radiotherapy for the first time, on two tumours, but the others in his stomach can't be treated with radiation.

 

If anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

sorry to hear about your husband. My wife was diagnosed with it in APRIL 2008,though the tumours started in April 2006. We were told in Sloan Kettering that Chemo has low success rates and radiation does not help.

My wife is taking the following supplements:

 

Curcumin-- 8000mg per day9sloan kettering prescription was for 1600mg per day(this is an extract from the herb turmeric)Green tea extract-- 2 caps 500 mg per dayCoriulus mushroom extract --2 caps per day(www.mushroomscience.com) vit d3--1000i.u per dayIn addition to the above, which were prescribed by sloan kettering, she is taking homepathic treatment and ayurvedic medicine treatment.Last two sets of scans have showed nearly stable conditions.If you want details of thehomeopathic and ayurvedic medicines-- available in india-- we will be happy to help.We hope this is of help.Best wishes

my husband also has liposarcoma and in phase 1 trial study. I am so curious about the alternative treatments-curcumin i have read about used in studies at MD anderson. You mentioned 8 grams a day with 5 mg of bioperine. What exactly is bioperine and where do you find it? Also, I have C3 Curicumin which is 400mg. How many of those to make a 8 gram a day and can you buy in that form? Many thanks. His began on kidney (10 lbs removed w/kidney, metasses to lungs and now 1 small in abdomen) How is your wife?

I also have liposarcoma cancer. In August of 2008, I had a tumer the size of a tennis ball removed from the inside of my stomach. I was told that they haven't seen this type of cancer in the stomah before. This past December they found several tumors in my stomach and now they want to take out my whole stomach.

What are the doctors telling you about your situation?
