Hey Barbara, He began Nutlins in August and is on 28 day cycle. Days 1-10 he takes 90mg. What is your husband on at the present?

My husband is scheduled for surgery at MDAnderson on April 8. Doxorubicin seems to have stabilized his tumors. Did the nutlins shrink your husband's tumors at all. When my husband was taken off the trial, we were told if they found a dosage that worked consistently, he could go back on. Do you know how other people are doing on the trial. My husband has a well-diff retro lipo. Sorry for all the questions. I'm just looking for info. Thanks Barbara L

My husband is on phase 1 "Nutlin"--an MDM2 inhibitor and good results. No new sarcomas. Also, no side effects of the Nutlin. There are about 4-5 centers using this. I am not familiar with Yondelis. Chemo did not work with his sarcoma. We tried about 6 flavors. The one chemo they wanted to try they could not because he only had the one kidney. So much out there has nasty side effects with kidney. Best of luck to your mom. I will lift her in her fight with this disease.

Hi,

How is your husband doing? What were the results with Nutlin?

What other Chemo has he tried out?

My wife has Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma and has been recommended Brivanib--Phase 2 trials. We are trying to evaluate our options.

My husband is currently being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX. It has been 3 years since his diagnosis. He had a recurrence 1 year after the 1st surgery in which he lost his left kidney, spleen, left adrenal gland & part of the pancreas. In Jan. 2008 he had 2nd surgery at MDA. In 2 months it metasized to his right lung plus the right stomach area. Those are the two largest masses, however, there are small ones & cysts all over. We have been here at MDA for a month & will be here another month. He just finished his 2nd round of Doxorubicin. Now it's just a matter of staying here in this hotel room until Oct. 27th when we see the dr. to see if it has done any good. In the mean time he just goes twice a week for blood work to check his counts. He has a lot of pain in his upper right back. The chemo has been really hard on him but it is either that or stop & just wait til the masses grow so big they cause his death. The cancer will never go away. The harder he fights, the harder it fights!
