I had my three month (since RAI) follow up today with my endocrinologist. It's time to go back to my Internist!!! My endo is very good at what he does, but I just realized he is the "bean counter" of the medical world. Endocrinologists are needed, but all they really do is monitor and control your numbers. Besides thyca, I am also diabetic; a specialty of endocrinologists. So I will need him to monitor those two condition's numbers and keep adjusting my meds for life. But other than that, they can't do much and just refer you to "specialists". I'm still having symptoms from my TT or RAI or whatever is causing it. He really had no answer and refered me to a ENT doctor. I was a little shocked, but I guess it was my inexperience working with an endo.
Has anyone else found this to be true? Was your Internist able to help or did you go to specialists?
