Hi,
I lost my father to RCC in 1989.
A CT has found a mass on my kidney. My doctor didn't explain anything, just ordered a follow up MRI via an email. I'm not freaked out about it, but due to my family's history, I'd like to know the real details here. What are the odds that this is benign?
A well-circumscribed mass in the posterolateral aspect of the upper right kidney measuring 1.4 x 1.3 cm. It exhibits an attenuation value of 40 Hounsfield units and does not appear homogeneous in attenuation. Recommend MRI of the kidney with and without contrast.
My MRI follow-up is scheduled in 3 weeks.
Thank you.
