Morning,
I have been using Nexavar 7 days. I have a knot in the palm of my hand also the stinging and itching in the head. Has anyone found a good remedy for this. The Dr. said it will go away. But what do you do in the mean time.

Hi LucyLou,
My dad was on Nexavar for 4 months, and I can tell you that he felt the itchy scalp throughout his treatment (no stinging though) as his hair fell off. From my dad's experience, you can also experience hand-foot reaction from the chemo, and depending on how high your dosage is, it can become quite severe and painful.
Hand-foot reaction can be mild from redness and pain to excrutiating blisters. The best thing for you to do if you start getting a skin reaction is to avoid making contact with the affected area (staying off your feet, do not do work with your hands, do not hold your feet/hands in hot water etc..) Friction will make the reaction worse.
My dad started off with 4 pills a day, once his skin started to blister, he tried to continue with 4 pills to see if it would eventually go away, but the pain was too much. After some readjustments, he then alternated between 2 pills a day and 3 pills a day.
I don't mean to scare you, and definitely not discourage you (no pain no gain right?). But just wanted to share with you... just in case :)
If you get blisters and your skin starts to peel off, remember to always keep your skin moisturized (Udderly Smooth cream and/or petroleum jelly worked well for my dad).
I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted with your progress
