Am so touched by every post. Friday before the CT scan, Quinton told the hospice nurse and chaplain that he knew the CT scan would show NO cancer! I was terrified he would be devastated anew. I talked with him concerning "what if" results were different than his expectations and everyone's prayers. Quinton said he guessed, then, that God thinks he has not learned his lesson yet about cherishing every day of life we are given. That broke my heart, of course, and I assured him over and over that NOTHING he has ever done or failed to do caused this.
On Tuesday, Sept.9, the CT results showed NO CHANGE. There were no new tumors and the large tumor in his liver that extends into his pancreas, the tumors in his lungs and pelvis had not grown. This is exactly what Nexavar has been proven to do (slowing progression of tumors). At best, it extends life by 3 months. According to doctors, Quinton now has 1-7 months.
Quinton's reaction? We need to get the home teacher's program going, because I will never get into Harvard if I fall behind in my studies.
