Just wondering if this is for all religions/faiths? As a Christian, sometimes there are practices that don't fit my beleifs....just wondering the basis of this healing. (I peeked at the website but didn't read it fully )
thank you!
I have seen people of all religions/faiths practice tongren, but understand that it is a personal choice. There is a group with a large number of Russian Orthodox folks who do not use the doll, but rather a drawing since the representation made by the doll does not fit their practice. We use the doll as a means to focus the energy, but can just as easily use a drawing of the human body, and in fact some of us use anatomy text drawings at times.
There was a Catholic priest in the Boston area who was known as a healer for many years. His name was Father McDonough (he died about six months ago). He was a very close friend of Tom's and they worked together in healing. Father McDonough sent many people to Tom's guinea pig classes, and Tom frequently worked on him. I'm not sure of what form of Christianity you practice so I can't specifically answer, but I hope this offers a little bit of an answer. This healing system has a scientific basis and is grounded in western anatomy, physiology and diagnostics and incorporates concepts from traditional Chinese medicine in order to open blockages which might best be described as bioelectrical.
