Requesting Information

My mom was just diagnosed with primary liver cancer that has spread to her lungs.  We have talked with two different oncologists and have been told that there is no treatment available to her.  We have never dealt with cancer before and are totally lost.  Four months ago she seemed healthy and the doctors are now telling us that she has a year to live.

 We would appreciate any suggestions.

So sorry that your family is having to go through this.

There are many on this board who believe there is hope in alternative therapies.  There are many of us who indeed are successfully holding metastasis at bay by using alternative therapies.

I recommend you take a look at the Cancer Compass alternatives  board.

An excellent web site to get started learning about alternatives is:

http://www.cancertutor.com

You might also take a look at Ty Bollinger's book, "Cancer: Step Out of the Box."  It is available for PDF download through his website:

http://www.cancertruth.net

You might also follow the links on the Cancer Compass homepage and talk to someone at CTCA - they work with a lot of patients who haven't been given hope by other medical practitioners.

Please feel free to write me back if you have questions.

Sincerely,

Tre

This is also a great web page - has numerous links about alternative care:

Annie Appleseed is an excellent site, and there is a link given for CTCA.

I am thinking of you and your family.  I lost my special dad September 5, 2008 to Liver cancer.  He was diagnosed December 31 ,2007.  Don't spend to much time trying to find the perfect cure if the doctors tell you there isn't one.  Instead, use everyday to love up your mom the best that you can-not wasting one single moment. Just knowing that I was the best daughter to my dad and that I gave him lots of laughs and good times and love when he was sick is really helping me heal this loss.  Hang in there-hugs to you and your mom.

Get a third opinion from a major cancer center.  Ask them about Tarceva.

Thank you for your answer.  Unfortunately my mom lost her battle with cancer in September.  It was very sudden and she technically died of kidney failure and its complications, but we all know it boils down to cancer.
