After reading several postings, I understand each person is different. But, my husband was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer in Jan, 08 I am lost confused and still scared. No one can seem to tell me a straight answer on a prognosis, I realize they cant be exact but I cant even get an approximate one. I hate to keep asking, It makes me feel very uncomfortable, but we have kids and grandkids, we all want to know what to expect, whats to come and how much time we have to share with him. None of us will ask again in front of my husband, but does anyone know of a easier way to get this information.

After receiving all three treatments, Chemotherapy, Radiation and precautionary Brain Radiation. He finished all with very minimal side effects during treatment. But he is now experiencing nausea, vomiting, diahhrea, loss of taste, and a few other undesirable issues. Does anyone have info about this.

We have also mentioned these things to the Dr.s and get a "O.K. well if it is still a problem next time...."

Wondering if anyone knows of this delayed side efffects problem, or are we looking at a normal after effect. Does anyone know what else we might be looking at ahead of us.

This is all new to me, so Im sorry if this does'nt come out right, or I offend anyone

Thank you

Hi,

my mum was dxd with SCLC extensive in April 2007. Prognosis was a 'few months'. She is 72 and still going strong now 18 months later. All she had was 6 rounds of chemo which finished last August 2007. She has a lot of weird episodes of nausea, sweats, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, headaches, numbness. They come and go.She also has persistent neuropathy which is managed with pain medication. She has no brain or liver mets.  Doctors say that with cancer, you get a lot of odd symptons that seem unexplainable as it messes with your systems and releases toxins which wreak havoc.

I feel that considering her original prognosis, she is doing well as she gets out most days and still does housework and gardening and enjoys life.

I hope this helps and best wishes

God bless

Debbie
