Wow congrats, that sounds so good.  My husband is beginning Torisel tomorrow.  His cancer is Renal Cell Kidney that has metasticized to his lungs.  His breathing is affected.  Lot's of coughing and shortness of breath and bringing up yucky mucous.  Sutent didn't do a thing for him so we are hoping that Torisel is a better choice.  He was only diagnosed on May 20th. Had surgery on May 23 and the battle has gone on since then. Hope your husband has continued success

Great news about your husband, only just read it as I have just got back from 7 days in Portugal. All the best for continued stability and good health!

My husband did not have any luck with Sutent either and the side effects were awful. However, on Torisel there are some side effects but overall not as bad as on Sutent. He is on Lipitor and Micronase because of elevated blood sugar and cholestrol. He does have a sore mouth and week legs. He has been on Torisel since April.

My husband has had one treatment with Torisel so for us the jury is still out.  He has mouth sores ( we just got a prescription for Magic Mouth) and he is very weak, no appetite, coughing up tons of muceous and generally feeling wiped out.  Tomorrow is treatment number 2.  Guess we will have to hang in there a bit.  It makes me sad to see him so uncomfortable.......

My mom went for her CT scan two weeks ago and had the same news. She has been on SUTENT 50mg/day for two cycles.  Her tumors have not grown at all.
