Hi Kevin, everyone else,
Thanks for posting this, Kevin. I had actually started to look at something similar to this article while waiting to see the dr this morning, but didn't get to finish it, and had not thought to look for it online!
I think there is no doubt when looking at worldwide statistics that modern treatment of cancer is by and large missing the boat.
In researching alternatives for several people on the board, I've spent a great deal of time looking at information provided by AP John Cancer Institute in Connecticut. They treat all cancers with the same diet, customized to each individual patient, and they are getting some phenomenal results. This same diet, CAAT, and variations of it, have been used in completed clinical trials, again, with some pretty impressive results. The science behind the diet, to my way of thinking, makes so much sense, I don't understand why EVERYONE treating cancer has not adopted their approach.
Even more amazing to me than the diet is their way of thinking about cancer, first from the standpoint of prevention, and then incorporating the principles of prevention with those things that are known to defeat cancer once it is established in the body. Comparatively few institutions and private practitioners are focused on prevention - and that has GOT to become the approach of the future, or the doom and gloom is going to get much deeper and thicker.
Here is a link to AP John's literature on the first line of defense against cancer, the cancer detox system. The article is kind of technical, but not nearly so as much of the other stuff that we all try to wade thru in efforts to understand how to beat this disease. THere are many excellent links on the web site, including explanations of how many different cancers affect the body, are diagnosed, and treated, plus valuable information about the CAAT diet and how AP John works with patients from around the world to help gain victory against cancer.
