Patrick's CT came back clean after his 3rd recurrence of lung metastasis from esophageal cancer. Yes we have done chemo again over the past several months using lower dosages than in the past with excellent results. The spots disappeared in spite of the fact that this seems to occur only rarely with chemo in the case of EC, although it often will keep them from progressing. The biggest difference this year was the fact that we do tong ren daily instead of once a week. And I heard the oncologist say the word "miracle" once again. So folks, are there any takers? Please join us for the biweekly webcast of guinea pig class or on a conference phone call. I really believe at times chemo is a necessary evil, as it has been at times with my husband, but i also firmly believe we can make things better by working with complementary alternatives. Anyone interested can check out tongren webcast through www.tongrenstation.com. We are off to celebrate our 25th anniversary (the one we weren't sure we would see when diagnosed in 2005). Have a great day folks.

Patrick was out of chemo treatments from October 2008 till March 2009. There were small lung mets showing in March so he went back into treatment with EOX for 3 months before a clean PET/CT in June 2009. We still do tong ren regularly on our own at home, in class with Tom on Saturdays, and via conference call or internet somedays. He will be 4 years from his stage 4 esophageal cancer dx about 3 months from now and is doing very well. His weight is holding somewhere around his pre-cancer weight, he eats and sleeps well, has no pain, and is not troubled with the digestive issues that often occur post-esophagectomy.
