I'm sorry to hear about your husband.  My husband has mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the salivatory gland.  His was just diagnoised in June of 07 and he had the tumor taken out of his neck/salivatory gland area with some of the lymphs nodes as well.  His spread to his thoriacic area, lung (r) and neck agrea.  He has been on continual chemotreatments since June 07 and was in remission for 3 months but it came back again with more cancer spots.  His Dr. changed the chemotreatments to more agressive and now they are shrinking.  We don't know how long he has because this cancer is so rare.  He's just now going on disability because the chemo is eating him up so bad he can't work.  So hopefully he'll be better again soon enough to function like he did before.

Again sorry for your loss and Gods Blessings on you this day.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband's cancer.  A good friend of mine has the same cancer and has had it for 3 years.  She's been through surgery, radiation and now chemo. SHe feels great at this point and is asymptomatic.  The cancer did spread to her lungs, but they haven't changed the chemo - taxol and cisplatin.  What is your husband taking, if I may ask.  I guess they aren't changing it as they feel because she feels so good, they dont' want to mess with that.  It is such a rare cancer that even Sloan Kettering isn't taking her as a patient.  Anything you can pass on would be helpful.  Good luck to you and your husband.

Patty

Hi my name is Robbie and I would like to know if you can tell me what happened to your husband in the final stages.  My husband has Grade 4 stage and has had it since day one.  Are there more than grade 4?  He's in remission for right now and won't have to have chemo treatments for 3 months praise God and then we go back for PT/CT scan to see where we are at that time.  Please give me info on what to expect toward the end as we have no clue at this point if you feel like it.  Thanks and God Bless.
