Hello

My grandad has been diagnosed with bladdar cancer and a few weeks a go went into hospital to have it blasted off. He went for his check-up today and they said he needs to have the procedure again!

Does this mean that the cancer is growing fast and is there more risk of it spreading?

Can someone please reply as i know nothing about cancer and am worried sick... I am making myself ill! I need to know am i going to lose my grandad to this or is it possible for him to get rid of it?

Hi, all things are possible by the grace of god.It does not always mean that it is growing that fast could be when they did the procedure they did not get a far enough margin.Did he have something done called Radio Frequency Ablation to blast it off? Sometimes they have to do this more than once.Hope this helps you out.

Hi Louise_10  by blasted off I asume you mean The drug, blinatumomab, It a development in the use of immunotherapy, the process of using the body's own immune system to fight disease if it is, Its done by (what can we say here) glueing cancer-killing white blood cells called cytotoxic T cells to the tumour. Once there, they release a poison that destroys the cancer. If it is  I dident know they use it for bladder cancer then he should do well, if not there is  other way  take care and God bless  Ray

Thank you for replying so quickly.

It was that radio thingy he had and the doctors have said he needs to have it done again.

Do you know if they can cure it? Is it possible that it can go away and not come back? I am both hoping and praying that i do not lose him... he is my hero.

Take care Lou xx

This procedure has a 50/50 rate of success I am told.My husband just had it done on a cancer mass in his liver and we won't know if it completely successful until his next PETct about 8 weeks from now.It is something that can be done more than once to an area. What ever the out come remember this .NEVER EVER GIVE UP  no matter what you just keep on fighting and encouraging your grandpa every day. Tell him"you can't hit the ball if you don't swing the bat"

Thank You!

I'm just scared that if it doesn't work this time he will give up. He can't have a general anasthetic either because he had a heart attact last month so he has to have an epidural. It's jus one thing on top of another at the minute n it is very worrying, tiring and stressful.

Thanks for your advice it really does mean a lot xxx
