Hi all,
My niece has been in remission from Hodgkins disease for 2 years. She was a 3b state which i think is really bad.

The problem is she is now suffering with horrendous bone and muscle pain and sometimes can't even get out of bed or downstairs. She seems to have good days and bad days.

Has anyone else had this, or know if its just the after affects of chemotherapy. Is there anything she can do, she's only 27 with a young daughter so i just want to help.

Thanks to anyone who answers in advance.
Jane

I was stage 2A HD NS.... diagnosed 2004, abvd rad, stem cell trans and MDX 60 antibody w/gemcitibine.  all worked but HD returned.  Now on RAD 001 with Sorafenib.   Working 90 percent remission.  But I have been experiencing a lot of muscle and tendon pain.  Mostly at night.  You can actually see the ankle and muscle spasm.  Very painful.  Sometimes my hands are so bad I cant hold a pen or they clamp on to the steering wheel and I cant release.  This really scares me.  They recently determined that my thyroid was damaged due to rad...  taking thyroid meds and they seem to be helping.  also was told B12 levels might be low.   I know how your niece feels.  Stay on the doctors though to find the problem.  I will pray for her.

I am 2 years in remission from hodgkins-6 cycles abvd. a year ago, the pain in my back and legs became so extreme that i could not walk.. it took some time to find a diagnosis, but the pain was due to avascular necrosis in my hip, which led to degeneration of the joint. I had a hip replacement 4 weeks ago, which has made a total difference.. AVN is a side effect of both the chemo, as well as the decadron, and can affect any joint.. My thoughts are with you, and I hope you find a cure for your pain soon.
