HI,It is nice to talk to someone that knows where you're coming from. Only your close friends and family knows what you actually went through and then I haven't told them all of it. If you do say vulva people look at your weird.Take care and you keep me updated OK!Nana

RE: Pap Smear

Hi there,Thanks for responding. I've went and had the repeat pap smear and the Dr. said the lab just messed up. But he did keep skirting around my questions about how they messed up and were the cells that they had normal or abnormal. So who knows. I'll get the results next week. The vulvectomy was not too terribly bad. It did hurt but my Dr. gave me a cream to use and I took sitz baths 3 times a day with ocean sea salt. I just tell everyone that my landscape changed. He did have to go deeper and wider than he thought, but my cancer was at the back very close to the rectum but not affecting it. I was able to go back to work after 2 days, but I have a high tolerance for pain. I was blessed that I didn't have to have chemo or use the chemo cream. He got clear margins. But he said it usually would come back so that is why I'm so paranoid. I hope this helped and take care of yourself. You are your own best advocate.

Is not getting enough cells something that is prone to happen or is my overactive imagination right. It has been 9 months since my partial vulvectomy and vulvapasty.Hi there,I like you will be having more radical surgery if this current treatment does not work i'm in my 2nd week of using Aldara and already got my first infection, anyway i like you worry about my smears as i am now always worrying it will go there next we can only hope it doesn't. i think it is possible for them not to get a good enough sample, try not to worry to much. Could to tell me anything about a partical vulvectomy as this may be my next step if the Aldara does not work. Take care x
