I have Synovial Sarcoma on the bottom of my left foot.  My doctor told me the best cure is to do a below the knee amputation.  I asked about chemo, radiation or any kind of surgery.  He sent me the chemo and radiation doctors and they said it was not worth it to try.  After 2 months of me trying not to have the amputation done he said he would try radiation for me. 8 weeks.  I do not know to do this or not.  So many side effects because of the area.

If there is anyone that has had this problem, please contact. (Below the knee amputation   or   radiation treatment.

I just do not know which way to go with this.  I do know that it is very painful to walk !

Hi - I hope you have gotten a second opinion or were able to try something else. From what I've read, amputation is only needed in a very few cases. My surgery (first one, so far on my thigh) took out quite a bit of tissue, but was able to keep my leg. No matter what, it is worth anything to try to fight this thing. Good luck and hang in there!
