Hey Shirley,
When I started to put together my own herbal/natural regimen to fight mets, I also read some very convincing data on the effectiveness of iodine in killing cancer. I had already started taking a kelp supplement for thyroid health, so I doubled the supplement as part of my cancer regimen.
I would caution that people with mets to organs such as the liver and kidneys, adrenal and other endocrine glands might need to use caution in iodine therapy. It takes a lot of iodine to become overloaded, but it can happen, and those whose metabolism and detoxification abilities have been compromised would possibly be at greater risk. For that reason anyone who might consider iodine therapy should do so with their physician's approval, so the appropriate tests can be done to monitor for safe serum iodine levels.
I may still have some of links from some really good articles in my files - if I can find them, I'll be happy to post them to the board.
Thanks for writing about this - hopefully it will be of help to some of the ladies.
Sincerely,
Tre
