Steam Baths and Saunas

I have been reading a lot about steam baths and saunas as a beneficial complementary treatment for cancer. It would make sense from the viewpoint that sweating would help get rid of toxins in the body. I also know that heat kick sarts the immune system and that cancer cannot survive at 107 degrees. I'm looking to join a gym that has either a sauna or steam bath, so I will be using this type of heat therapy. I figure it can't hurt ! Anyway,  I was just curious if anyone else has used the sauna and/or steam bath as part of their regimen.

My sister does the dry sauna...heard it was better than steam (she has lung cancer).  Not sure if there is a true benefit, but certainly no harm...so why not try ....who knows what the "magic" combo is that just may be the best treatment.

I'm a little torn about which one would be better. A lot of information indicates the dry heat is better, but the ones that favor the steam heat give compelling reasons why it may be more beneficial:  creates more sweat ( detoxification ), and it brings your body temperature up higher ( higher temeprature neeeded to kill cancer cells ). It seems either of them would have "some" value, and I agree, it certainly wouldn't hurt ! I am surprised I cannot find more poeple using it.

We have a jacuzzi and I run VERY HOT baths. I tend to tolerate them hotter than my husband (he is the cancer patient). Now that he's out of chemo he's enjoying the tub again, but the heat was too much for him during chemo so I would advise caution for someone who is actively treating.

I often find that when I feel like I am catching something I can take lots of Vitamin C, take a really hot soak to detox, and get into bed early and wake up better the next morning.
