ET

I am a 40 year old female and I just found out my blood platelets are in the 766 - 843 range.  I have not been diagnosed with ET yet, but I am off to a hematologist/oncologist on Oct. 31.  All my other counts (red and white) were normal, as were my iron levels.  Is there anything that I should be asking when I go into my appointment?  I noticed when I was doing my workout yesterday that my heart was really beating hard and I was out of breath pretty easily.  I have been working out daily for the last two months and never noticed this before.  Could this be caused by ET or am I just being petrified?  If you have any information for me on what to ask or what to expect, I would greatly appreciate any and all pieces of information.  Is this considered high enough to be worried or put on Hydroxyurea(sp)?  I didn't think this was going to be a lifelong ordeal.  I thought once I got my numbers down, that would be the end of it.  Does it keep coming back and am I in for a long haul?  Thank you for all your help!!!

God Bless,

Joni
