radiation enteritis diagnosis after uterine cancer- supplements?

I have taken my Mom to numerous gastroenterologists, nutritionists and surgeons due to her radiation enteritis. She has gotten progressively worse with intermittent small bowel obstructions. Noone will do surgery because "the risks outweigh the benefits" at this point. The latest GI specialist she saw recommended probiotics but did not offer safe brands, which bacteria or how much. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who is knowledgeable about this? I do not want her to do any harm without all of the information. Further, if she is going to spend the money on it, she needs dosing that will work. Thanks.
