efudex

My efudex treatment is for my lower lip.It states not to apply it to the mucus membrane. I was issued valtrex to keep herpes at bay & told not to use the medicine if i developed a cold sore. about 10 days into the treatment the mucus membrane just inside my mouth blistered & i am not sure if i should stop treatment due to a cold sore or it is the medicine.this has me worried. i am to apply efudex 2x daily for 14 days. i took a day off from the medicine when it blistered but today i reapplied it.after this i am to apply an acid cream for 7 days. (prescription title not handy.
