Subject: Any Side Effects From Aromasin
Date: 01/18/2006
I just saw your message from 9/2005 inquiring about presence/absence of side effects on aromasin. I had placed this same question on the message board for breast cancer and never received a response. I have been extremely concerned as I had left bca and put on arimidex 3/2002 never had any side effect of any kind, not one --that should have told me something but it didn't. Then, two years later I was told they saw something in the right breast and this time it was also in lymph nodes. Obviously arimidex did not do me any good at all.I have been on aromasin for about 9 months now, same as before ----not one single sign I am taking any medication at all, not one sign - the same as it was when I took the totally ineffective arimidex. I read all these women's complaints of side effects from taking this anticancer medication - how I wish that was me - at least they know the medication is having an effect on them ---- I have none and I am afraid. At my last visit I asked if something could be added to my medication as I simply do not feel I am receiving full benefit or even any benefit from the aromasin but the answer was ...they would not know what to give me. Are there any people out there that had EP+ on 2 different type anticancer medications at the same time? If so what and what dosage?
I just do not want to sit back and wait for my 6th cancer to show up. I feel I need to do something but do not know which direction to go.

I had posted a message regarding the ill effects that I was receiving from taking aromasin in September of 05. It is now January of 06 and almost all of the negative effects have subsided. Upon my last visit to my oncologist he stated that that was the usual course of action with his patients. They had at first experenced severe muscle pain and then after a few months (I guess your body adjusts) you felt fine again. I just have some soreness in my fingers - but considering the anti-cancer effect of the medicine I certainly can adjust to that.
