hi chata I have advance prostrate cancer you know you can do more then this for your bone pain I had it look like water on my pet scans I also know why your doctor has got you on arimidex it lowers your estrogen levels which I suppose they think may slow the growth of any  tumors you get as  this cancer  need a hormone like estrogen to grow in the body. Mine needs testosterone arimidex  is often given to women whose cancer has progressed even after taking other chemo drugs like tamoxifen nolvadex About two years ago  I was told to take large dose of vitamin C witch I did 2000mg three times a day in two weeks my pain stopped if you get mets and your  doctor starts you on a an other chemo treatment ask you doctor  about Vitamin (medical grade) D3 it weaken the cancer my naturopath put me on to  stuff like colloidal sea minerals colloidal silver and as I said  large dose of vitamin C and vitamin D will help build your immune system up to stop mets its worked for me over the years and its cheep as it only cost a few dollars with treatment you will be OK Ray

I've been on Arimidex since March 2008 and have many side effects, including bone pain.  As long as the Arimidex works, I will continue to take it and put up with these horrible side effects.  I take so many pills already that I just don't care to add more by asking for something for the pain.  Maybe you should ask your oncologist for something to help you bear the pain if it is bad for you.  There's no need to suffer the pain if you don't want to.

Read thru the messages in this thread:

http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,29969

I believe it is in the first response that a possible remedy for the bone pain is given (Yes, the message thread is about aromasin, but aromasin and arimidex are the same type of drug - aromatase inhibitors - and the side effects are much the same for the two drugs, so I expect that relief for symptoms can be achieved much the same way.)

Please also read through my response on this message thread.

There have been other messages about tamoxifen, aromasin, and arimidex - I believe that from time to time there have been other remedies given that women found helpful.  You might do a search on cancer compass for messages on these drugs - will take a little bit of time and patience, but might be fruitful.

Wishing you the best,

Tre
