Our diabetic Schnzuzer has just been diagnosed with TCC and is on Piroxicam with his insulin. pepcid and meds for thyroid. Vet has said that he has 2-4 months. Being diabetic one of the side effects can be bladder infections, which is what we thought we were dealing with in the beginning, but he began crying (which through, menegitis, ketosis and more he has never cried), so we reacted immediately and took him to the ER. There they did the ultrasound and found the tumor. They said they could do surgery, which would extend his life by 10 months, but with his diabetes this can also open up other concerns. His diabetes has been controlled over the last 6 years. My question is that there has been mention of other meds that your furry children are on besides the Piroxicam and I am wondering what these meds do in the overall picture.
