Subject: mouth sores from Doxil

I was just wondering if anyone has any cures that have worked for mouth sores from Doxil.  My mom has them very bad.  Her oncologist has given her varies treatments but nothing seems to work, not even the "magic mouthwash"  My mom is a fighter, but this is really kicking her but.  She started getting them with her 3rd treatment, were they were so bad that they even ran down her throat.  Now on her 4th treatment she has them again, luckly not down her throat, but has them really bad, that she can barely even speak.

Please help, she will pretty much try anything just to get rid of them.

My Mom is also suffering from ovarian cancer.  We have friends who are dental surgeons and they recommended a product called "MEDActive Oral Anti-Microbial Rinse 0.63% Stannous Fluoride."  My mother has used this product daily since she first started chemo in July.  She only had 1 mouth sore, which disappeared after she used the rinse 3x day for several days.  She still continues to use it after her 6th treatment with good results.  You can order the product at http://www.medactiveoral.com/Anti_Microbial_Fluoride_Rinse.h

I have met two of the owners, Don Mackie & Jeff Hammerhoff.  Tell them I referred you.  My name is Linda Russell-Piazza.

I wish your mother success in her treatment with a full recovery.  My mother is still undergoing treatment as her CA125 came back at only 32 after 6 chemo sessions.  Dr wants it below 20 and thinks the the cancer is resisting the chemo.  She just started Tamoxifin.  Hopefully she won't have to go through more chemo, but we'll do whatever it takes to get her cured.

Best wishes to you and your mother.

Linda
