My 12 year old Golden Alley was just diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma, she has a benighn tumor on her right hip which has been getting big quick. My vet wants to remove it, he says it will only get bigger and cause pain. Looking for some others who have exoerience with this.
Hi Dave,
I am so sorry to hear about your Alley. I realize this is not a "New" posting but I have just found this.
I am NOT new to this website. Three years ago I was fortunate enough to find this. At that time my beautiful boy Beezer was going through TCC and passed in November 2006. I now am dealing with my little girl Penny. In November I found a lump in between her shoulder blades. It was raised and purple and took her to the vet. The tried to aspirate it. Any matter they did get, they sent for report. It too came back indicative of Sindle Cell. Her tumor got twice the size. She was operated on Jan 8th and the end result is the she has dermal hemangio-sarcoma. This is not good news. I just had her to the oncologist yesteday and they told me she should have chemo. I am now besides myself.
What is the outcome of your pup?
I am very concerned about the chemo and have read all there is to know about the survival rates -- just like the TCC. I cannot believe this is happening all over again. I have been told 1 in 3 dogs have cancer.
I hope you have gotten good news.
Sincerely,
Debbie
