Massages for cancer

Massages for cancer patients suggest massage can decrease stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and fatigue in some. Many health care professionals recognize massage as a useful, non-invasive addition to standard medical treatment. In other words, massage won’t cure cancer, but it can greatly help alleviate the symptoms.

And I think it’s a great tool, not just to make people feel physically better, but it’s really nice to ... get massaged when you’re not feeling well no matter what.

As a certified massage therapist with specialized training in massage
for people living with cancer, I agree! Massage that is appropriately tailored to the individual, taking into consideration medical history, cancer
treatment and side effects, can provide great comfort and relief. I
work in hospitals, clinics and provide massage at home for those unable
to come to me -- in nearly every case, massage has been a blessing. Be
sure to work with a certified therapist with special training who
always elicits the support of the treating doctor before creating a
massage session for you. It may be that you can only receive a light
and nurturing touch from your therapist, but even that can be a healing
experience.
