I have AML and in remission but my leg bones still hurt really bad, the doctors said that it would take time but it has been 5 months since my last chemo and my legs still hurt.  Does anyone still have the same problem.  I am grateful that I am alive but this pain on somedays is unbareable.

Try using barley grass or wheat grass for bone pain - barley grass is the stronger of the two.  You can get it in tablet, capsule or powdered form - follow the directions on the label.  Barley and wheat grass are alkaline - can be a little hard on the stomach, so take with food - even if just a few crackers.

If you can't get barley or wheat grass, try alfalfa tablets - again, take according to the directions on the label. Or if you are lucky enough to be able to get fresh green alfa, or dried alfalfa, you can put some in a bath of comfortably warm water and soak for 10 minutes.

Garlic capsules may also help with the pain.  Up to 1500mg/day - ideally if you can get 500mg gel caps, and take 3 times a day with food. Odorless garlic supplement helps cut down on burping and gas, or you can take regular gel caps and put them in the freezer.  Swallow them while they're still frozen - they will take a while to thaw in the digestive tract - should be down into the colon by the time they thaw - will absorb very well without causing the burping and gas.

Sincerely,

Tre

Thank you Jeff it is good to know that its not in my head I want to feel better but the pain just brings me down.  Do you take any medication for pain and are you able to work?

sorry Jeff - I think I accidentally sent you a bunch of emails.  I'm just learning how to do this.  I noticed that you said you had a BMT - my husband is in the process right now - day 33 - for AML.  I'd like to hear more about how it was for you. Re:  bone pain - my husband has been fortunate.  He hasn't had much bone pain.  He DID have bone pain when he was first diagnosed, 2 1/2 years ago.
