Hi,
I am 29 and have recenty noticed a lump like formation on my Left tonsil.
I am in a country away from home country for 6 months work assignment. I want you to look at tonsil photos I have taken and comment what does it Look Like?
http://picasaweb.google.com/tonsil.lump/112508 #" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://picasaweb.google.com/tonsil.lump/112508 #
Is it tonsil cancer of some kind. If I asked my family doc in home country who asked me to take an antibiotic course for Ciprodac 500mg for 10 days as I am helpless here in a foreign county without any medical insurance etc.
I am planned to go back april09.
Anyone who had faced similar problem or any doctor who has seen this kind of patient and what was the outcome? I know it is difficult ot tell like that but still a comment guidance will help
thanks

I feel  if you even think it might be cancer do not go near any antibiotics it will only  make it worse. I found this out when I first found out I had prostrate cancer I went on an antibiotic after I finish the course my next psa shot up by 4 points and my pain just got worst  it was only after I seen a naturopath and went on large dose of vitamin C that thing got better  she also told me about the Dr Tullio Simoncini web site he is a roman doctor specializing in oncology, dialectology and in metabolic disorders his sites at http://www.curenaturalicancro.com/ he use Bi-cab soda to treat cancer I heard some people say gargling  with a leval tea spoon in a glass of water once to three times a day helps also lemion juce and honey if you want go to the site and just read hope this helps Ray

hi

Thanks for thereply.I have already started with the treatment and 5 days have passed. This lump is painless right now. Is it when you left the antibiotics you felt this pain or during the course. As i am not having any pain and dont know but the tumor looks shrunkrn or may be the inflation on the tonsil. Do you think this is making it clear that it might not be cancer. Please reply you frlt the pain after the antibiotic treatment. How many days after.

Thanks for the advice ...

two years ago my protrate started playing up I went to the doctor  the one Iv got now he said I put you on an antibiotic treatment but  before I went on the antibiotic treatment I had a full blood test and my doctor all so ask for a psa test to be done as well, it came back a week or so latter as a Psa of 8.5 antibiotic treatment made the pain first better then 6 days later it slowly got  worst. next psa three weeks later was 9.8 this was two years ago and my last one three month ago was a psa of  10.2  I feel if the antibiotic treatment is working it might not be cancer but just inflationthen again Im not a doctor Im just a patient fighting cancer I had a PSA test to day see how it gos on monday when I get the reults back

Cheers Ray

If the antibiotics don't work, or the doctor you saw didn't immediately go to the next level and get a biopsy or something, i would take action now and get something done, especially for your piece of mind.  My husband had a lump on his left tonsil, and it turned out to be stage 4 oral cancer.  He experienced no pain, no trouble swallowing, or anything.  I found a lump on his neck when i went to hug him last January.  Its been a heck of a year.  Take care, and take charge of your health!   Make them do a biopsy or something!

Yes, if antibiotics dont work, and u still see the lump there, you should try as soon as you possibly can to get a biopsy done.  I had a tumor on my right tonsil, had a biopsy and it turned out to be Cancer, oropharyngeal Cancer, behind my right tonsil.  The tumor kept growing, getting larger, until it almost sealed up my airway.  Ive been treated with radiation and chemo. Its important not to let this go, and get another opinion as well.  I had to go to several different doctors before they even knew what it was.
