Aromasin

Hello!

I've been on aromasin for about 8 months now (was on Femara before that).  I have an incredible amount of pain in my joints but my knees and hands have unbearable pain.  It is so bad I do not know if I can continue on this medicine. (Femara was no better) The hot flashes have calmed down alot and I am now starting curves before I go off the medicine to see if that helps.  If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I hope aromasin helps with the cancer because my quality of life is not the same and I hope the good outweighs the bad!!!

Thanks,

Janice

Hi Janice,

I have been taking Femara for 3 years and Tamoxafin before that for 2 years.  I began with crippling joint pain as you describe, plus hair thinning, elevated cholesterol, ect.  Last year my family Dr. prescribed Lovaza (Omega-3-acid ethyl esters) commonly prescribed for elevated cholesterol, and recently...more prescribed for pain associated with Arthritis.  It has changed my life!  The pain is still there, but so toned down that I can exercise again and paint in my art studio without crying.  I don't know if it will help others.  I have posted it on here before.  I would be curious if anyone else had the same relief as I have.  My oncologist didn't say much as usual.  This helped my pain only.  (Which is incredible!)

Hope this may be helpful.

Best Regards, Linda Lou
