Any one know any thing about free PSA because it over my head Iv just had my psa test done I was testing the Bob beck protocol. I been on it for a month now  when I had my psa test done my free psa dropped from 8.5 to 5 but my normal psa went up from 10.2 to 13 to go on the Bob beck protocol I had to stop taking the large amount of vitamin C I was on I think this is why my psa went up my doctor said this is bad be of the deference between the free psa and my normal psa is getting wider % wise  any one know any thing about free psa let me know I’m only doing this so I can become suitable to get the High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) done I know as long as Iv got primary cancer in my prostrate Ill never be rid of it take care  Ray

"Free PSA" measures the % of PSA being produced by benign causes or BPH to give a probability of cancer.

It is often an additional tool used when PSA is in the gray area between 4 & 10.

When "Free PSA" % is 0-10% the probability of cancer is 56%

my psa  shott up from 10.2 to a psa of 13 Iv been using  colodal silver as an anti viral anti fungle treatments I used it to knock my cancer out so I think that it knocked the fungal BPH part of my prostrate out and the cancer just move in

Your PSA and Free PSA are both abnormal. You need a biopsy; I'm surprised your doctor hasn't recommended a biopsy.

hi john t I had a biopsy; a year a go Gleeson score 3+4=7 I know Iv got Protrate cancer I know my  PSA and Free PSA are both abnormal. and I know now why Over the last two months I’ve been treating my prostrate  cancer with the Dr Bob Beck protocol I been using the blood electrification  device on my wrist for two hours a day  making and drinking colloidal silver two cups in the morning I now seem to have more energy every three months I have a PSA test mine was due In November so I made an appointment and got my  psa test done I also had an ultra sound done the  bone scan next week over the last few weeks I’ve notice I could feel my prostrate gland and I was finding it harder and harder to empty my bladder  I found out from a friend I made a big mistake in the way I was using the magnetic palsa on my prostrate gland I was placing it just behind my scrotum under my  pelvic floor  he told me it destroyed the bugs causing the BHP in my prostrate gland so the prostrate adenocarcinoma had all this new food stuff from the dead bugs to feed on and turn in to more cancer cells he thinks that why my psa went up you see  when I went for my test my  free psa went down for 8 to 5  this is the bugs that cause the BHP and my normal  psa went up from 10.2 to 13 also that why I was beginning to feel my prostrate gland and found it hard to empty my bladder I’ve stopped using the magnetic pulsar  on my prostrate. as  last week on advice from a very good friend I started  having Almond Kernels and I’ve also started on  selenium 400 micrograms per day ( by the way don’t confuse milligrams with micrograms as 1 microgram = 0.001 milligrams  1000 micrograms =1 milligram, I know what a dangerous poison selenium is  but I’m very carful I’m also still  on the  bob beck blood electrification device and colloidal  silver part, I been on this week  it only been over the last day or so that  my prostrate has starting to settle down but I can still feel it a bit but it geting better cheers Ray

PSA is a measure of Prostate Diseases not specifically Prostate Cancer - however, if % free PSA is below 25% the possibility of cancer increases the lower it gets.  In your case it is low and getting lower.  GET A BIOPSY NOW !  It's the only sure way to tell.

I suggest you read Dr Patrick Walsh's 'Guide To Surviving Prostate Cancer' - it will tell you all you need to know about PSA - diagnoses, and trearments for Prostate Cancer.  He is probably the foremost authority on Prostate Cancer and Prostate Diseases.

Best wishes,

K.D.

Hi Kd I know I have prostrate cancer and I had a biopsy 12 month a go it showed I had cancer Gleason score 3+4= 7 tried to get and operation they said I was to over weight as I’m 6ft and  I weigh 140klos (308pond) the most I could go down to this last year was 132 kilos then I got depressed  and put it all back on again I cant lose weight I would need to be 108 klos the only other one  left  they would do with my weight is breaky-therapy ever one I seen have this done has had a bad out come with it, so the last one is  the High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), but at $20,000 its out of the question as it hasn’t got a provider number so I cant clam it on my MBF medical insurance and we cant borrow any more so we cant afford it just have to go back to watch and waiting and dieing a painfull death take care Ray

Hello Ray,

The above site could not be found.

I was 238 lbs (5.11), had a heart condition and was 73 yrs.  I had da Vinci Robotic Surgery (ideal for those overweight) I haven't looked back, the best decission I ever made.  I saw 4 Urologists, and finally found the right one.  Whatever treatment you decide on - find a Dr who has experience!

Good luck,

K.D.

Hi KD what I cant under stand is I told both those doctors I was over weight both made an appointment with me and both said I was to over weight to have the operation I went to see them as both these doctors did the da Vinci Robotic Surgery be cause I to know it was  ideal for me back then it cost me about $3000 flying around the country seeing them I haven’t got $3000 to spear any more  both these doctors charged me $170.00 and $250.00 just to see them to me it look like all they wanted was the consultation fee and didn’t care much about me   take care Ray

Hello Ray,

I know how you feel - I also flew to see Dr having provided all the necessary information in advance of the consultation. I doubt if it had been read, as errors re PSA  etc appeared in the reports- there was no error anout the $250 fee plus the fare however.  The only thing I would suggest, if there are no good Drs in your immediate area, only communicate by email, be up front, tell them you can not afford air fares for a consultation if there is not going to be an effective treatment as a result, put them completely in the picture. My surgeon and others say da Vinci is ideal for those overweight. However, maybe you could loose a few kgs?

Keep looking - you'll get there as I did - remember the best charge the same as the not so good.
