help with funds for the family

hello everyone,

I had wrote in about a week ago about my brother who was diagnosed with snuc.  He has had a major operation (in MN)  on his nasal cavity, partial parts of his brain and lost his right eye.  It has been very rough and he is about to start proton radiation in Florida so not only does he have all of the emotional stress and worry for his life he now is really upset over trying to pay for all of this. We live in Michigan so the expense of staying away from home is not helping either.  We are going to have a fundraiser soon, but I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was help out there thru the cancer society of some where to try to help him and his family out as much as possible.  Thank you so much for any info.

We've covered all our expenses the past three years, but recently followed oncologist out of state so visits mean a motel stay and 1200 mile round trip drive. Some places have special rates for cancer patients and I believe someone at the cancer center told me the American Cancer Society can help with distant travel for treatment. Might want to contact them and see what they say.
