Latest messages for CancerCompass discussion http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,31054,0.htm Mon, 23 Nov 2009 00:00:00 GMT Mon, 23 Nov 2009 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ Good evening all, I finished pelvic radiation treatment about 2 weeks ago.  I had 28 treatments in total.  I managed to work the first 3 weeks of treatment but had to go out on diability for the rest of the treatment -- I am still out on disability due to the fatigue factor and diarrhea.  Some days I almost feel normal, running my errands and doing my regular activities at home or seeing freinds.  THen the next day I spend on the couch, completely wiped out.  I am scheduled to go back to work on December 29th, I hope I'll be able to get thru the day.  I feel well in general but out of nowhere I crash and need time on the couch, or just don't feel mentally able to handle life - does anyone feel like that? Fortunately I found out I am not a candidate for chemotherapy, to I hope to be back to as close to normal as possible.  Although I can't shake the feeling that "I have cancer" -- surgery removed everything they could see, but radiation is supposed to kill anything left behind.  I'll have a CT scan in February to check for regrowth.  I have a high grade sarcoma, which the doc says is a dangerous kind to have, it could reappear in a number of places.So, I would say the fatigue takes a long time to go away,. epiphany Fri, 12 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT Harry i also had radiation treatment for head and neck cancer in my lymph nodes and i remain at times very tired and i notice that the more i do the more tired i get. i feel like i am trying to learn to walk all over again. it will get better as i have seen myself just dont try to do to much at once take it slow and work yourself back into life like you know it. they have brought you as far down as they can to make you better. now its your job to get better, do what you can and rest when you need to rest is a good medicine for you.best wishesBrett Brett37 Fri, 12 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT I just completed 45 IMRT treatments for prostate cancer 4 weeks ago. I am continuing to be very weak and tired. All blood work is normal but fatigue is still a problem.
