GRANULOSA CELL

Hi, to all ladies with GCT. I was diagnosned GCT stage I (5cm tumor) 3.5 years ago. Doctors suggested complete hysterectomy. I insisted on having another baby since I was only 35 by that time. I had only one ovary out operation (no chemo) and the miracle happened. I got pregnant after 1 month of the operation. My second daughter is now 2.5 years old. I was under detailed control during my pregnacy and I delivered with a normal labour. I have internal ultrasound every 6 months and a total scan every year. Doctors suggesting complete hysterectomy at the age of 40, if nothing happens in the meantime. For the moment I have no worring symptoms or any other sign that makes me concern. The truth is that due to the fact that GCT is so rare we have not enough info about it. I hope I helped you to feel a bit better.

I also had GCT, and a tumour removed.   A very general question I have is would you say we are now living with ovarian cancer,  or do you think that in fact we can use the term HAD ovarian cancer.   When I read experiences that others share I am never clear on that point.

What do you think?

I also wonder after staging.  Do you say you have or had?  I am a one year free granulosa cell state IIa.

Hallo Susan 51 and Grundy,

I think we need to say "I had ovary cancer" in order to feel much better. This is what I said to myself and went on with my second pregnacy. Now I feel almost like I've never had cancer in my life. I'm ,let's say, a person that pays, more than the average, attetion to my body signals and keep being informed about the news of the ovary cancer. I wish you luck. Stay active and go on with your life. All my wishes MYRDA.
