Aoife,

I, of course, have no first-hand experience with being pregnant and no experience with the other conditions either. I just wish you all the best. Take care of both of you!

When is the baby due?

Good Luck, KEEP MOVING, and Laugh Much,

Steve

Wow! Congratulations...babies are always a blessing and a wonderful celebration of life.

Sounds difficult, but you are always upbeat and do well with the challenges EC has presented. I'm sure you will do well with this too. You and your family will remain in my prayers. Hope you are all showered in blessings through this holiday season.

Congradulations. I am sure everything will work out find and you can only take one day at a time. I have no experience with this but you will have your doctors every step of the way and I am positive all will be fine. Hope you have a lovely holiday season.

Take Care and Be Positive

Aoife,

Congratulations!  I don't know what you might face either.  I have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.  I would suspect you may have some extra acid reflux and some morning sickness.  That is pretty standard with any pregnancy.  I ate a lot of saltine crackers during my first 3 months.  Then you might feel some extra pressure from the baby pressing up on your diaphragm, but maybe the baby will have all the more room to bounce around in your tummy without your whole stomach down there.   One thing is certain, having a baby is a "wonderment".  I could not believe the love I felt for my babies when they were both in the womb and after the birth.

With good doctors and prayers I think you will be fine.  How does your husband feel about this new development.   He played a small part too! haa haa.  They surely get off easy don't they.

Thanks for all the encouraging messages.  I thought that I would get away without morning sickness but I was wrong, have been having it for the past two mornings.  Husband is over the moon, we did not even think that we could concieve.  We work in the same place so he is making sure that I am eating enough - having a lot of hot chocolate at the moment and craving sundried tomatoes!

My surgeon is fine with the news and my diabetic doctor thinks that I will be an excellent mother.  I am just worried that the cancer will come back, though at least our cancer is not hormonal which helps.  They said that they will do an ultrasound during the pregnancy to keep an eye on me - scared of missing my 2 year scan next February!

Sorry if I am going on too long - excited but scared,

 Aoife

You never go on too long!  I think everyone enjoys reading the posts.  I am happy your husband is estatic about the baby.  Try not to worry about the cancer coming back.  #1)  worry won't change a thing and #2)  in my 63 years I have learned that the things you worry about most usually don't happen and the things you never think about will be what you wind up dealing with.  This baby must be your reward for going through the trial of your life and as long as your doctors are happy for you......just be happy for yourselves.  Take care of yourself.  We will all be praying that you carry this baby to term with no complications (the morning sickness is just par for the course) and you and your hubby live long enough to welcome your grandchildren + more into the world.  God bless you!
