my father was recently diagnosised with this type of cancer they want to start chemotherapy right a way. though i keep ready that it does not respond well to chemo. Does it ever respond to chemo. supposedly it has not spread. He has it in his thiegh and it is the size of a canelope. when they went in to biopsy the tumor it part of it had become necrotic due to lack of blood supply they said it grew out of the blood supply after they cleaned the leg up it was the size of a large gratefruit. He is suppose to start chemo on wedsday 10/12/05. Does any one out there have any advice. Should they just amputate it before it does spread? or use a combination of chemo and radiation? the dr's plan is to do chemo for a month to see if it helps shreak it then surgery then radiation. they want him to go to md anderson in houston texas.
