It was early stage (2) cancer and had not spread. 41 lymph nodes were removed which showed no malignancy. I had 6 sessions of precautionary chemo (Taxol and Carboplatin) and finished in September. The only side effect I had during chemo was tiredness. My last CA125 was 8.1! However, I began having neuropathy - numb toes - and pain in my lower back and left buttock about 1 month after my last treatment. Since my pelvic CT scan came back clear after chemo, I assume the pain is from chemo. I see my gyn/oncologist this month (Jan.2009).Hi volcano...I, too, have neuropathy from chemo (Taxol & Cisplatin) which began in earnest about 2 wks after finishing chemo. I have numb fingertips and numb toes & soles of my feet. There is also burning in my feet after standing or walking for even a short time. My oncologist put me on Lyrica for the neuropathic pain, which seems to help the burning, but not the numbness. The problems being weight gain from the med, the need for increasing doses over time, and you have to take it three times a day. I am at the point where I want to try something else, or just muscle through the pain without meds. You should be careful with walking... I have turned my ankle several times just because I can't feel my feet and where they are on uneven ground. Also, you should be inspecting your feet daily for any sores or blisters that you may not feel. Shoes are a big issue for me...hard to find any that are comfortable yet even remotely stylish. As for the pain in your buttocks/hip, if it persists, I would let your doc know.
