I have ET JAK2 positive
Anyone give me info My platelets are higher than normal and going up but not as high as most of these people (almost 600) and 1st thing my doc wants to put me on chemo drug therapy (which didnt tell me that this was what the drug was). I told her no then i want to take this other cbc blood test. Is ET Cancer or not. I am 49 (with single with one adult child very close and he depends on me being around).on 3/2006 because of doc with needle made me have 3 severe strokes in one day and I had another one 2007 which I believe could be related to ET. I am undegoing very high stress and I can/t seem to get my stress down. One of the things just lost my dad. I am very scared about all this. I will not go on this drug which is chemo that will kill you, A\She told me once I am on this drug I cannot go off of it (Hrdraurea or generic one) The drug as I have some medical back ground will eventually kill you and she told me 10 years is along time for being on this drug and you have a high risk of acute leukemia which will kill you.. If I was dying of cancer then chemo would be an option but I heard there is other options like transfusion and not sure what else and would like to know what else is there plus reading the message boards seeing an oncologist should be seen too for 2nd opinion. I have a few mental disorders with all this like bipolar plus they found something on my thyroid and have sever pain in neck and lower back and they are going to do a myelogram possible nerve damage. Thank God I am a believer. In 2006 i had those 3 severe strokes lost 2 dogs,7 year relationship went bad,my dad threatened me and my son was in prison but good thing he go out in aug that year.
