I have posted on this board but have so far not had a response to my question so hope you might check back and reply for me. I used carac and efudex 2 years ago for 32 days with good results. I did my whole face. I will see a new dermatologist in 2 and 1/2 weeks but have started a new regimen on a few places on my face and on the tops of my hands without seeing the doctor yet. I am using the old efudex (not expired though) . My questions are about treating the tops of your hands. With the twice a day application, how do you keep the medicine from speading around ? Can you cover your hands at night with cotton gloves or a gauze bandage? My fingernail beds and fingertips are starting to get sore so I must be spreading the medicine around without knowing it. Can the Efudex be washed off after a set amount of hours? I was mostly used to Carac before and that was only for the overnight period. Please help me with any advise if you can !  I am on day 9 with the treatment. Thank You ! Holly Reddy33 Wed, 25 Mar 2009 00:00:00 GMT Some others have shown results, so here are mine.  One year after treating arms and hands with Efudex 5% two times a day for 5 weeks.  Links below show arm after the 5 weeks of treatment last Feb. and then today.  I had also used Retin-A for a month before the 5-FU.  No new lesions/AKs so far, so if others considering this regiment, it truly worked well for me (but lots of discomfort/pain along the way, don't kid yourself, be prepared)  I am very fair skin and had hundreds of AKs and had BC reemovals for years.
