Hi

I am new to this message board. I am in Adelaide and was diagnosed with PPC on 8th Oct 08 and was operated on the 20th Oct/08 having a total hysterectomy. Chemo started on the 3rd Nov 08 with 1 treatment of Carboplatin every 3 weeks and taxol every week. My CA125 number was just under 4000 when diagnosed and is now down to 36. I was told that most of the cancer was removed but there were some flaking that had 'floated'. I did not have any symptons as such until early September and then it was just bloating. I go jogging most mornings and noticed that there was something wrong with my breathing so went to the doctor and told him I needed to find out what was wrong. I had a blood test which showed some inflamation (I did not know then about the CA125) so I then went for a CT scan which showed a build up of fluid - 2 days later I had some fluid drained and tested which confirmed PCC, saw a Gyn/Onc on the 8th Oct. So from seeing the doctor (GP) on the 25th Sept to being operated on the 20th October then chemo it has been like something from a movie! At the moment the only side effect I have had from chemo is low white blood cells, fatigue and 2 days of feeling nausea.

I must also point out the I am TRYING to train for a marathon as I had signed up for this before diagnosis and am hoping it will keep me positive and something else to think about besides the dreaded Cancer!!

I am interested in the doctor from Stirling who does the Vit C & B17 shots as after chemo I would seriously consider this.

 Hi Jenni

I too had suregtery in October, and  was diagnosed with PPC

low grade,....  and  cehmo was recomended  to me also to satrt by 6-8 weeks, which I didnt do....

I see the Dr again Jan 13 th, I am glad that you are feeling good

and would also recomend the Vit C B17  as I have read that it is  highly receomeded by a few people onlione who have written to me.

My Doc  doesnt support aht thought, but my naturopath does & she can send me to one in the City  if I want to have  IV   vitamin C therapy...

Once I met a GYN, in August, and  his Pap results came back... I was referred to a Specialist in the city pretty quick.... Oct 29 th was my surgery....   I am jsut now feeling healed from it... been  10 weeks.

I wish I was back at work,  but Family Doctor  recomended  I stay off & go on disability. while on treatments.....  she said it might be a year.

which surprized when I feel so good.... and able to work.

Im not convinvced Chemo is the right choice for me, as  my own ONCOLGIST/GYN  told me....   low grade  doesnt respond well...  & I  have read   that  Primary low grade uterine pappillary serous adenocarcinoma...does respond well to chem ;.. but    Dr   recomended I start it.

however I am seeing a naturopath today, and Im going to ask her if ther is another way we can  battle this effectively.

I wish you the best.....  and    also look up  other alternative to support your immune system  while you train for the marathon

Im taking Bell Supreme Immune Booster

and I read a site yesterday recomending....

Papya, & PIneapple, and Grapes.....

& cesium.& potassium

but again   You;d need direction from a naturoptah an ND  not MD

http://www.alkalizeforhealth.net/cancerpain.htm#cesium

I have been striveing to change my PH  by eating foods that are more akl..

i read a book called BALANCE, which  is changingmy life... very easy to read.. and  written by a Cancer survior...

google it.....

read as much as you can,, learn as much as you can, to make good choices for you.....

its your body... your life.....

Glad to hear that you are a runner already....  I need to get refit...

I stopped excercising when I had children 23 years ago, and    Im paying for that bad choice now....  i need to loose  100 pounds. and also need to do more walking,..... and swimming...

Hope to talk to you again

Take good care of your self

Hi Mary-Anne

Thanks for the reply. I decided to go with the conventional treatment and after will do whatever. I have an appointment with a dr in Feb about the Vit C and B17 shots so will see what happens. Once chemo is finished I am going to ask to have every test possible to make sure the flaking did not attach itself to anything else.

Chemo is playing havoc with my White Blood cells the last few weeks but that is something that can't be avoided. I am going to get some Total Well Being tablets which help with the immune system.

I am going away for 2 weeks and then when I come back have 6 weeks of treatment left - just in time for my marathon if I can complete the training.

How did you go at the naturapath and what did they recommend?

Regards Jenny

Hi Mary-Anne

Hope your treatment is progressing well. Just to let you know that I have finished my treatment, finished the marathon and then got the all clear from the doctor. I know at the back of my mind that PPC can come back but am trying to be positive that it will not.

Please let me know how you are going.

All the best Jenny
