Colopscopy & LEEP Complications

I had the colop about 6 weeks ago and the LEEP three days ago.  Ever since the colop, I have not been able to have sex because of SEVERE pain.  Any other time, I feel fine, but sex has become unbearable since the procedure.  Then, when I had my LEEP, the speculum caused the same unbearable pain.  I never had pain before with sex or with the speculum.  I had some bleeding this morning so I went to see the doctor, and the pain caused by the speculum was even worse.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this this before?  My doctor seems to be stummped.  I am wondering if something went wrong at the colop?  Or is this normal healing?

Has your doctor checked to see if something was pulled, during the colposcopy? Something was pulled when I had a LEEP done, and I had the same severe pain as you. However, my doctor wasn't confused. He knew he had injured me during the LEEP, while I was under general anesthesia, and chose to pretend nothing had gone wrong. The pain was so terrible, I went to ER twice, and he still pretended I was fine. One of the nurses called and rudely said nothing was wrong with me. Eight months later, after not being able to get through the day without painkillers and cushion to sit on, I went to a specialist who diagnosed a pulled tendon on the right side of my vagina and gave me some self-therapy to help it. Unfortuantely, my injury was so extensive, especially since it was undiagnosed for so long, I have now been advised by two different doctors to see a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic issues. What I will probably never know is if he pulled my right leg too far over and injured me that way, or if he hit the right vaginal side when the loop accidently bent, which in turn caused the injury. In my case, it was very painful to realize my ex-doctor was more interetsed in covering up than healing his patient. (Don't worry; he's being reported to the medical board.)

Thankfully, it sounds like your doctor is genuinely concerned and confused and may not have encountered this, before. But mention the possibility of a tendon, muscle, or ligament being pulled or even torn. That way, your doctor can pinpoint it and heal you sooner. It may be rest and anti-inflammatory medication will help you. It may be that you need physical therapy to help you heal quicker. In the meantime, don't hesitate to ask for pain medication. If your body is tense from pain, it has a harder time healing. In addition, if the pain is too great or you bleed heavier, please don't hesitate to go to ER. If this is the case, you may also be having complications from the LEEP.

I truly hope you feel better. Although I am not you, and therefore, can't know what you are feeling, I do understand how difficult and discouraging it is to be in chronic pain. I will definitely put out good thoughts for you that you heal soon.
