Just to start off, I'll give you all some background info. My dad was diagnosed with stage III sarcoma to the thigh last May. After a successful surgery in June, he finished up radiation and life was back to normal.
Recently, he had a seasonal CT scan of the chest to make sure everything was ok. It turned out that there was something that "concerned" the doctor. He didn't tell us what or where, except that it was on the lungs. My dad has been complaining about a chest cold recently, so we're hoping that's all it is. His other CT scans, two if which to be exact, have come back clean for mets in the lungs.
He has yet to go to see the hematologist for this, but it's pretty much been concluded that its either spread and will need another CT scan to make sure its still there or if it was just something temporary like a cold or whatever.
So, assuming the worst, what is the best treatment for this? Has anyone had any success with any specific chemo medications or diets? What about laproscopic surgeries? What's the life expectancy? My dad is only 52 years old and it pains me to see him have to go through this.
Thanks to anyone who responds.
