Doxil

If anyone out there has any suggestions on how to manage the rashes that can occur with Doxil use, I'd really appreciate it.  My Mother is suffering form terrible rashes on her arms.

Hello Gardenia-

I am taking Doxil and my Dr. recommended hydro-cortisone cream. What does her Dr. say? He/she should know how to handle it.

Hi, I am on my 5th treatment with a very bad case of the rash and sunburn effects. I've been using Bag Balm it comes in a green tin and Euricen cream.Both can be bought at your drugstore. I am covered on both thighs,elbows and on the sides of my upper arms. I can't wear a bra. Just today my Dr. gave a script for a steriod ointment. It feels better already. I usually get worse around 16 days after treatment.No hot baths or showers.Try and wear very loose clothing. I hope this helps your Mom.

My mom will be having her first treatment with Doxil tomorrow.  I've tried to research everything to be prepared.  I was wondering if anyone has used cold therapy?  They say if you use cold therapy during treatment that you will less likely have the hand/ foot problems, etc...

Hi I used ice packs on my ankles and wrists. I also sucked on ice chips during infusion. I hope this helps you. I got this horrible rash everywhere but my hands and feet. Good Luck,
