RE: appetitte after radiation and chemotherapy

I know I am a little late on this message, and went through a similar situation with my wife as she battled metastasized breast cancer. No matter what you do, you must make sure she does not stop. I know what you mean when nothing tastes good with all of those chemicals. You may have to go with creamy easy to digest products like boiled brown rice just to keep it down. When my wife quit eating I could no longer help her fight, and she became so weak. I tried so hard to get her to eat, but she could not keep anything down, then she flat out refused to eat. Good luck, and God bless your family.

appetitte after radiation and chemotherapy

My mother finished up with cheom and radiation therapy 1 1/2 years ago, She has never been able to get her appetitte back. She weighted 120 pds before treatment and now she weights 88 pds. That is with a feeding tube being put back these past few months. If she becomes more active, she loses weight. She says nothing tastes good and sometimes makes her gag. She is weak and has very little quality of life. Currently she doesn't eat enough to keep a bird alive. Before the feeding tube was put in, she would eat things and be sick for 3-4 days, diarehhea or severe nausea. We have been to every gastro doctor, natural path doc, cancer docs. She has no cancer right now, but cannot get her life back. I don't know if she is depressed, just sick and tired of being sick? I am looking for any information, recipes that cancer patients can tolerate because there taste buds are so off. Anything. My name is Chris and anything would help. Thank you.
