edema side effects

Hey all,

Was wondering...my huband has been on 6 cycles of 50mg sutent for RCC and has begun to experience edema in his feet, hands and face.  Has anyone else had similar symptoms? Also, his feet blister. peel and get quite painful towards the end of his cycle.  Has anyone found anything particularly helpful in minimizing this?  Thanks for the input.

I, too, have been on Sutent since Oct of '07 with good results so far. My feet too get blistered and painful, etc. Finally, the doctor gave me some pain pills, which I take first thing in the morning. They do help, as I walk on and off all day ( I am a teacher). I also rub my feet with any kind of moisture cream. I was using bag balm or udder cream and putting socks on, but I guess any cream that gives moisture would be okay. Some days they are so painful that I could cry, but the pain pills help. I only take them on the bad, bad days electing to tough it out on the better days. Hang in there, you will find something that helps you---just keep looking.
