I am new to this board and to CARAC cream treatment that recommends a skin moisturizer to keep the treated skin from drying out.

I would appreciate hearing from those of you who are in such a treatment program or have completed one and which product(s) you have used and how they worked.

Thanks!

I started my 3rd episode of Carac last night.  Each time I have been instructed by my doctor to only do a section of my face, such as forehead.  This time I am doing my eyebrow area.  The very first time I used Carac, I did not use any moisturizer on it and it was pretty rough.  (Good results, though.)  Second time, different doctor, said to use vaseline and that helped a whole lot.  This time I finally found Aquaphor and am looking forward to having it for soothing the area once it gets red and begins peeling.

I had wanted to use Aquaphor the 2nd time because so many people on this message board recommended it, but just couldn't find it.  I recently "googled" it and the webpage had a "find it" locator button.  I got mine at Target.

Hope this helps.  Just the one Carac application last night, and I could "feel" it already....not sure how this will go.  I'm mostly concerned because it's close to my eyes.  I have to be very careful cleaning it off in the mornings.  (I use the disposable cosmetic pads.)

I started using the Aquaphor on day one and the skin turned  red etc but it

never burned or hurt - my only problem I did my hands also and got the aquaphor in my hair - I washed it 14 times last week and still have greasy hair but nice moist disquiting looking skin.

Strange as it may sound, I use Paul Mitchell's "The Conditioner" on my "scabby areas"  it is a leave in hair conditioner but works great on skin.  I discovered it when I got a bad sunburn once - it helped a great deal.  It is non greasy, relatively inexpensive and light.  My sister was incredulous when she did her treatment, then tried it and was convinced.  Very soothing.
