HI, I just read a lot of these posts here. Many of you refer to alternative treatments...what are those? my brother was just diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer. we are thinking of getting a second opinion at mdanderson yet keeping his appointment to have the port put in for blood and chemo so as not to slow down any possible treatment help. He has a feeding tube put in and cannot swallow anything including saliva. Any info would be helpful or even links to websites. thanks, patty

If you do what your doctor tells you to do, you will be doing 'orthodox treatment'. The problem with most orthodox treatments for most cancers is that they don't cure the cancer and very often do not extend life - though they may appear to in the short term by making the tumour shrink. You must remember that orthodox medicine is essentially controlled by the pharmaceutical companies - I advise you to read Ralph Moss's book the Cancer Industry for details. This is a sober, well researched and very frightening book.

Against this is the simple proposition that cancer can be cured by diets, vitamins, herbs, detox and a number of other strategies. Together these are known as Alternative treatments. (Also sometimes as Complementary medicine when the assumption is that you will use them in parallel with orthodox treatments. Go to my website www.fightingcancer.com for further discussions. Also read my e-book Fighting Cancer - A Survival Guide.

GOD BLESS YOU Jonathan! It is about time someone stood up and told the truth about cancer and the "conventional" way of treating it.

"World Without Cancer" by G. Edward Griffin and
"Alive and Well" by Dr. Philip E. Binzel, Jr.

are two other books that most cancer patients should read. It will open your eyes to a very hard and cold fact that drug companies have been supressing KNOWN helps, if not cures, to this disease for years.

As for statistics, get a copy of American Cancer Society's own records and then run them by Dr. Binzel's results. That should be all the evidence you need as to what is effective. Sorry to say Dr. Binzel is no longer with us. I would love to know if there is any practicing doctor out there today that has his wisdom and courage. If you know of one please let me know. If I wasn't 50 I would start the study myself.
