My husband is 36 and has adenocarcinoma of the duodenal. Couldn't do surgery and had to have an intestinal bypass. It has been 9 months and he is not doing well at all. Any information would be wonderful. He also had to have a tube inserted in stomach to drain bile.

At age 38 my son was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in top of stomach and up into his esophagus.  Major surgery removed the top 10% of his stomach and all of his esophagus, replaced it with a section of his colon, and he went through chemotherapy.  His dr. said adenocarcinoma is on the top 10 of cancers you don't want to have.  I suggest first asking your doctors to explain--then go to the internet.  I just Googled adenocarcinoma.  It's kind of scary, but you never know.  It helped me to face the possibilities, even though he and all the family thought he would be okay.  Each person is different, so there is always hope!
